Claiming CPEs (ISC2)

BSidesSLC and The Utah Cybersecurity Society are not officially affiliated with ISC2 or ISACA and make no guarantee that their sessions or conference offering will qualify for CPEs.

Submitting Continuing Professional Education Units (CPEs) to ISC² (International Information System Security Certification Consortium) is an essential step to maintain your CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or other ISC² certifications.

Follow these general steps to submit your CPEs from BSidesSLC:

1. **Log In to Your ISC² Account:** Visit the ISC² website (https://www.isc2.org/) and log in to your account using your credentials.

2. **Access the Member Dashboard:** Once logged in, navigate to your member dashboard. This is typically the page where you can access various features related to your certification.

3. **Locate the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Portal:** Look for the section related to Continuing Professional Education or CPE. This is where you will initiate the process of submitting your CEUs.

4. **Complete the CPE Submission Form:** ISC² often provides an online form for CPE submission. Fill out the necessary information, including details about the training or educational activities you have completed. You will likely need to provide information such as the name of the activity, date, duration, and a brief description.

5. **Upload Supporting Documents:** ISC² may require you to upload supporting documentation to validate your claimed CEUs. This could include certificates of completion, attendance records, or other proof of your participation in qualifying activities. Make sure your documents are readily available and in a format that is acceptable (PDF, image files, etc.).

6. **Review and Confirm:** Before finalizing the submission, review the information you provided and ensure it is accurate. Confirm that you have attached all required supporting documents.

7. **Submit Your CPEs:** Once you are confident that all information is accurate and complete, submit your CPEs through the online portal. There may be an option to review your submission before finalizing it.

8. **Wait for Approval:** After submission, ISC² will review your CPEs. This process may take some time, so be patient. You may receive email notifications regarding the status of your submission.

9. **Check Your CPE Status:** Monitor your CPE status on your ISC² dashboard to confirm that the CEUs have been accepted and applied to your certification.

Remember that specific procedures may vary, and ISC² may update their processes over time. Always refer to the official ISC² website or contact ISC² support for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the CEU submission process.
