CyberPassport Skills Gauntlet
Do you have what it takes to conquer the skills gauntlet?
At BSidesSLC, the CyberPassport Challenge lets attendees test their technical skills across a series of hands-on cybersecurity stations built by members of the community.
Each station is powered by the LilyGo T-Dongle S3 (ESP32-S3) and designed to be completed in about 10–20 minutes.
Complete stations, collect stamps, and compete for prizes.
How the Challenge Works
1️⃣ Pick up a CyberPassport card at registration or the CyberPassport booth.
2️⃣ Visit stations throughout the conference.
3️⃣ Complete the challenge presented at each station.
4️⃣ Receive a unique stamp for each station you complete.
5️⃣ Attendees with the most stamps will be entered first into prize drawings.
Each station is designed so anyone can participate — whether you’re a beginner, student, or seasoned security professional.
Example Hardware Challenges
Some stations may include activities like:
• Running firmware on the LilyGo T-Dongle S3
• Loading games like Tetris onto the device
• Broadcasting cybersecurity awareness SSIDs
• Capturing BLE signals
• Capturing network traffic via USB network emulation
• Viewing custom LCD animations triggered by payloads
• Exploring defensive perspectives of BadUSB techniques
Who Should Participate?
CyberPassport is designed for:
• Students
• Hackers and builders
• Blue teamers
• Red teamers
• Anyone who enjoys hands-on challenges
No prior hardware experience is required — each station host will guide participants.
